The first and only film of Ms. Susan Roces as a child star was "Mga Bituin Ng Kinabukasan" produced and directed by Jose Nepomuceno, known as the Father of Philippine Movies. In this movie, at the age of 10 years old, she was one of the child stars introduced (her screen name was Maria Levy) together with the late comedian-TV host Ike Lozada and Mila Ocampo, mother of actress Snooky Serna. "Mga Bituin Ng Kinabukasan" was the 35th anniversary presentation of Jose Nepomuceno Productions and shown at Dalisay Theater on January 20, 1952. Although in the movie ad (above), the names of Susan and the other stars were not mentioned, the teaser said "Jose Nepomuceno, the man who gave you the biggest and greatest stars of our time, including Rogelio (de la Rosa), Rosa (del Rosario), Poldo (Salcedo), Mila (del Sol), Elsa (Oria), Tita (Duran), and countless others, now gives you ...A Creation of New Stars..."

Susan, 6 years old
